MHCWS sponsors two High Point Award programs each year, the MHCWS High Point Award for competing in Morgan classes, and the Open Show High Point Award for competing in classes open to all breeds. Trophies and ribbons are awarded under these programs and public recognition of the winners and runner-ups announced at the Club’s Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet held in November.
A current year membership in the Club is required to be eligible to participate in this annual high point awards program. The calendar period is November 1 through October 31. You must be a member of MHCWS prior to the first day of show to be eligible for a high point award. If you joined as an individual, only you are eligible. If you joined as a general membership, then each member of the immediate household is eligible.
A club member who is part of a syndicate or partnership or is a shareholder of a horse is also eligible to participate (proof of ownership may be required).
Horses owned or leased by club members earn points from placing in Morgan classes in horse shows; placing in Morgan and/or open competitive trail rides; Morgan Sport Horse and/or open Sport Horse events (see specs for Sport Horse on page 2), USDF recognized dressage events, and/or Morgan working events, (see specs for Working Morgan on page 2) wherever they are held. The calendar period for awards is November 1 through October 31.
Placings must be sent to the High Point Chairman within 30 days following the close of the competition or they will be forfeited. Note: Placings from the Grand National Horse Show and competitive trail rides, sport horse, or dressage events held in October must be received by October 31st.
Show points must be submitted on an official form or duplicate thereof to be eligible. Persons submitting forms are responsible for their completeness and accuracy. Points might not be awarded if the submittals are found to contain incomplete and/or incorrect information.
